Dave Richmond
Our founder is originally from Manchester and studied Graphic Design at The London College of Printing. He later went on to work for top design companies in London and New York before setting up his own.

David Richmond Associates was started
in 1991 from a kitchen table in a South London suburb. He had no clients and
no associates but had a vision and a passion for branding and a belief that simple, engaging, well crafted ideas
were the foundation to successful and effective design.

In 2001 he decided to change the name to R Design. An 'R' for Richmond and a play on Dave’s Mancunian accent, that's clever 'R kid'!

The Team
When you work with us, you work directly with our Creative Director, Dave Richmond, and his design teams, headed by Senior Designer Scott Keightley. Dave has over 30 years experience in directing teams of designers that specialise in branding and retail. We always value our clients input and encourage them to contact our designers directly regarding creative development, making sure we meet expectations.

In addition, we also value an efficient service and our Client Services Director, Nick Verebelyi, heads a team of Account Managers responsible for dealing with client requests and meeting deadlines.

R Studio
In 2011 we moved into a beautiful old piano factory in a mews in Kentish town.
It's a nice environment that helps us think clearly as well as sometimes sing better, but it’s also somewhere we like our clients to visit and the kettle is always on!

Apprentice to Sorcerer
Hand picked for their creative magic, most of our design wizards began their careers with us arriving fresh from Art College. They’re trained to work in the R Design way, helping to maintain both continuity and creative approach. Several have been with us for over 10 years.

R Brand
Over the years we’ve designed lots of things to develop R Brand. From Christmas presents to announcing our new website, our designers have always seen it as an opportunity to develop ideas and enhance the company’s reputation. It’s seen us in lots of design books and won us numerous accolades, especially from our clients.

Collaborations
We like to work with great photographers, illustrators, copywriters or anyone we think can add to our creative output. It's important that they understand us and in turn, we respect what they do.

Inspiration
We do like to work hard but we also believe in the value of play, so a company visit to an art gallery or attending a design talk or even a new store is not unheard of.

What makes us tick?
We are a diverse lot when it comes to our individual interests. Amongst us we have a triathlete, a marathon runner, two keen cyclists, a rock climber, a budding property developer and a volunteer police officer. We also boast a slightly less energetic committed foodie and a growing number of over committed football fanatics.

Tea
We drink a lot of it. It’s a ritual and it's sociable. It can break the ice; it can comfort and can make you pause for thought. But really we think it might be a Northern thing to make Dave feel at home.

Elsie
We also have a very important member of staff, Elsie the dog. Named after Coronation Street’s most infamous red head, Elsie Tanner. You’ll not see her running down the famous cobbles as she’s usually helping out in the studio; we’re just waiting for her to learn Photoshop and how to make the tea.

Sponsor & Support
Most recently the teams charitable efforts fell to the boys. On the 1st of November we started the month fresh faced and looking like new men. 30 days later we were all sporting fabulous soup-strainers and had raised over £600 for the amazing people
at Movember.

Expanding our minds
We’ve been on numerous company adventures to most European cities including climbing the Eiffel Tower in Paris, relaxing in the hot springs of Reykjavik and sampling wonderful authentic Tapas in Madrid. We always enjoy the different cultures and of course the local beer.

Most recently we were breath taken by the winter scenes of Edinburgh viewed from the top of the city's famous castle.
